The management of Savernake hospital, near Marlborough, needed a number of large gates to protect entrances to areas that are not for public access. They were not sure on how they wanted the gates to look, or how they would fix, so we presented our expert advice and guidance throughout the project.
We worked hard with management to develop a design that was functional and still looked great and modern. We went for a box section framework with recycled narrow edging plank to stop any view through. The framework was galvanised and powder coated in gloss black, which worked very well with the brown slats.
The gates were hung using large 20mm eye bolts mounted on hinge posts that were dug and concreted into the ground to provide excellent stability.
Overall both ourselves and the client were very happy with the end product, which will last for years to come with hardly any maintenance required.
