Measuring up steps for bespoke iron railings requires expert precision and therefore we will always work from our own measurements. However, for quotation purposes we will first need some rough measurements. Please call us and we will talk you through the process of taking these. If you decide to go ahead and order your railings with us, we will then send one of our team to take accurate measurements before producing a design drawing for you to approve.
There are several methods of fixing handrails - we can use base plates bolted onto the top of the steps, extended posts with tab fixings down the side of the step stack, or we can fix directly into the concrete or patio at the base of the steps. We can advise on the best method by a simple photo.
